Strategic Plan
Sooke, BC - December 15, 2009
Since inauguration in December 2008, the District of Sooke Council has participated in orientation sessions that have included governance, budget overview and strategic planning. In 2009, Council approved a 2009-2011 Strategic Plan that outlines the municipality’s goals and objectives and provides clear direction to guide the District’s operations.
The Strategic Plan defines seven strategic goals:
- Well Planned, Sustainable Community
- Responsible Stewardship of the Environment
- Proactive Improved Infrastructure
- Diverse and Vibrant Local Economy
- Sustainable Financial Management
- Support Social/Community Initiatives
- Safe and Caring Community
Council has now released the updated Strategic Plan and established a “Top 15” Priority Project list for 2010. The public is encouraged to review the plan and priority list on the District website.
