Road Maintenance

Mainroad South Island Contracting Ltd. is the roads maintenance contractor for the District of Sooke.

To report any road issues or request road maintenance, you may:

  • Contact the District of Sooke during office hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) by phone

  • After office hours or for emergencies, contact Mainroad directly at 250-391-7310 or

In order to ensure a consistent level of service is being attained at all times, the Engineering Department will be performing monthly inspections of the roads and infrastructure.  During these inspections staff will be, at minimum, identifying the following;

  • Pavement deficiencies (potholes, alligatoring, cracking, etc.)
  • Graffiti
  • Damaged / missing signage
  • Shoulder condition along edge of road
  • Blockages in ditches / drainage course
  • Roadway cleanliness
  • Overgrown bushes & trees
