COUNCIL COMMITTEES AND COMMISSIONS

To assist Council in fulfilling their mandate, Committees or Commissions may be established to consider or inquire into any matter and to report findings and opinions to Council. The District of Sooke Council has established a number of committees and commissions. The term “committee” is commonly used to refer to all these bodies. There are three primary types of committees (commission, standing, and select) that may be established by the Mayor or the Mayor and Council.
