Sooke Region Tourism Association

Under the provincial Ministry of Tourism Community Tourism Foundations Program, a Sooke area community committee with representatives from the District of Sooke developed the “Sooke to Port Renfrew Tourism Plan”.  The Tourism Plan set out regional marketing strategies and defined implementation steps for the strategies.  The initial community committee has now re-formed as the “Sooke Region Tourism Association” (SRTA) to implement the Tourism Plan. As a member of SRTA, the District of Sooke Council supports the Tourism plan and has identified the need to provide some funding for the “tactics” identified. Funding was provided to SRTA for the hiring of a marketing professional in accordance with Tactic #1 of the Tourism Plan.
