Supporting a consistent and respectful visual identity

Branding and Logo

About Our Brand

The District of Sooke’s brand reflects who we are: rooted in nature and guided by community. Our visual identity, including the District logo, colour palette, and font choices, helps residents, visitors, and partners easily identify official District communications and materials.

Our Logo

The District logo features a stylized Sitka spruce overlooking Sooke Harbour - a visual representation of the natural landscape that defines our community. The Sitka, a tree known for its strength and resilience, symbolizes our coastal setting, deep connection to the land, and lasting commitment to sustainability and community wellbeing and respect on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples.

The pointed treetop also evokes the shape of a paintbrush, reflecting the creativity, arts and cultural expression that enrich life in our community.

Please follow the logo guidelines below to ensure appropriate use.

Colour Palette

Our brand colours are drawn from the local landscape and reinforce our sense of place:

  • Harbour Deep: A deep blue reflecting the calm waters of Sooke Harbour
  • Potholes Current: A rich green inspired by moss-covered forests and the Sooke Potholes
  • Morning Mist: A soft grey reflecting the region’s coastal fog and overcast skies
  • West Coast Sunset: A vibrant orange evoking the colours of a summer evening sky
  • Whiffin Spit Dawn: A muted blush symbolizing early morning light on the Salish Sea

Introduced in 2025, these colours are being integrated across District materials—from signage to digital communications—to support a cohesive and recognizable identity.
