Land Use and Development Committee

The Land Use and Development Committee (LUDC) is an advisory body made up of community members appointed by Council and Council members appointed by the Mayor.

The committee provides advice and recommendations to Council on matters related to planning, land use, and development. Members bring local knowledge and technical or professional experience to help guide how Sooke grows — balancing housing needs, environmental protection, and community design.

The committee’s work supports Council in shaping a sustainable and well-planned community through input on policies, bylaws, and strategic growth initiatives.
