Municipal Facilities

The District of Sooke owns and operates a number of facilities that support the delivery of local government services—from emergency response to wastewater treatment and parks maintenance. Learn more about where services are delivered from below. 

This is the main administrative office for the District. Municipal Hall is where you’ll find services like planning and development, building permits, bylaw services, finance, and Council Chambers. It’s also where Council and Committee meetings take place.

Sooke Fire Rescue Service headquarters and the community’s primary fire hall. Fire Station 1 is staffed 24/7 by career firefighters, with support from a team of paid-on-call firefighters. It houses emergency response vehicles, training facilities, and administrative offices.

Fire Station 2 enhances emergency response capacity on the east side of the community. Operated by paid-on-call firefighters, this satellite hall supports fire and emergency response in the area.

The Parks Yard is home base for the District’s Parks and Environmental Services team. It supports year-round maintenance of local trails, greenspaces, and parks, as well as environmental stewardship initiatives. 

Please note: the Parks Yard is closed to the public, except during scheduled activities such as seasonal yard waste drop-off events.

The Sooke RCMP provides policing services to the community and surrounding areas. Visit for criminal record checks, general inquiries, or other public safety services.

You can also report certain non-emergency crimes online, such as theft under $5,000, lost property, or driving complaints.

This state-of-the-art facility treats Sooke’s wastewater before it’s safely returned to the environment. The plant plays a key role in protecting public health and the Sooke Basin.

The Emergency Operations Centre is activated during major emergencies and disasters to coordinate response efforts. Staffed by trained municipal personnel, it ensures effective communication and decision-making alongside emergency services and regional partners.

  • Primary EOC will be located at Firehall 1, 2225 Otter point Rd.
  • Secondary EOC (activated if needed) will be located at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 7113 West Coast Rd.

In the event of an evacuation or major emergency, the Emergency Reception Centre provides shelter, food, and basic supports for displaced residents. Locations are selected based on need and availability.
