    A Christmas Carol 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Sooke Harbour Players’ Fall Production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” adapted by James Hutchison, directed by Asha MacLeod and Susan Browne.

This play is based on the classic Charles Dickens’ tale of the miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey of redemption as he is visited by the ghost of his business partner, Jacob Marley, and three Spirits on a Christmas evening in Victorian England.

We join Scrooge as he is shown a variety of Christmases of the past, present, and future. We are introduced to people who have been affected by his actions and discover that the Spirit of Christmas is powerful and we always have the opportunity to change for the better.

Code 3 Santa Community Fundraiser 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM

The District of Sooke is pleased to support Code 3 Santa, an annual fundraiser hosted by the Sooke Fire Fighters in support of the Sooke Food Bank and Sooke Christmas Bureau.

This festive event takes place November 29 and 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Sooke Fire Hall #1 (2225 Otter Point Road).

Families can have their photo taken with Santa Claus on a decorated 1942 vintage fire truck, with a professional photographer on-site to provide high-quality digital images. Visitors can also enjoy hot chocolate, hot dogs, and cookie decorating.

Residents are encouraged to reserve a time slot in advance, as this popular event often sells out:

    Fill a Fire Truck 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Join your community and the Sooke Fire Rescue as we come together to help local families in need this holiday season. Firefighters and volunteers will be on-site collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations. All donations go directly to the Sooke Food Bank Society to ensure no one in our community faces the holidays alone.

“Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference for our neighbours. It’s incredible to see how this community comes together year after year to lend a hand.” — Event volunteer Paul Bohemier.

    What to bring:

    • Non-perishable food items (tins, dry goods, etc.)
    • Cash donations

    Why participate?

    • Supports neighbours and local families who are facing hardship.
    • A chance to connect with community, meet local firefighters, and be part of something meaningful.
    • Helps ensure that everyone in Sooke can enjoy a warm, joyful holiday season.

Let’s fill those trucks and show the spirit of giving — see you there!
