Celebrate Canada Day in Sooke at Fred Milne Park

The community is invited to celebrate Canada Day 2026 at Fred Milne Park, 2249 Sooke River Rd, on Wednesday, July 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The District of Sooke extends its sincere thanks to the Sooke Lions Club for making this year’s Canada Day festivities possible and for their continued commitment to supporting community events.

Gates open at 10:00 a.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 10:30 a.m. The day will feature family-friendly entertainment, activities, food, local vendors, and community displays.

Magician Donald Dunphy will perform at 11:00 a.m., followed by balloon twisting. Cupcakes will be served at noon, courtesy of Village Foods and Western Foods. From 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., the Late Shift band will take the stage.

Children and families can enjoy bouncy castles, a dunk tank, and other activities in the kids’ area. The Otter Point Fire Department will host hose ball throughout the day, while Sooke Fire Rescue’s Ladder 1 will proudly fly the Canadian flag.

More than 50 vendors and displays will be on site, along with a 50/50 draw, the Lions concession, and food trucks.

As the festivities are taking place on a sports field, attendees are reminded that only service dogs are permitted at the event. Thank you for helping protect the field and ensuring a safe, accessible, and enjoyable event for everyone.

While on-site parking is available, attendees are encouraged to carpool, walk, bike, or use alternative transportation where possible. Please use caution when travelling in the area and expect additional pedestrian traffic in the area during the festivities.
