Notice is hereby provided of a Special Council Meeting to be held on July 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Council Chambers, 2225 Otter Point Rd, Sooke BC, for the purpose of resolving into a closed meeting.

District of Sooke flags are lowered to half-mast for one week, honouring Sooke resident and helicopter pilot Nicholas Dale, who died fighting wildfires in Colorado.

The cemetery area at Millennium Memorial Park is temporarily closed. The rest of the park remains open.

The Sooke Philharmonic Fling returns Sunday, July 5 at 2:30 p.m. with Music and Movement. Enjoy live orchestral music, prize draws and family-friendly fun at Ed Macgregor Park. Bring a chair, hat and sunscreen. Parking is limited; please carpool or use alternative modes of transportation, if possible. 

Property taxes are due Thursday, July 2. Pay and claim your Home Owner Grant by the deadline to avoid a 10% late penalty.
