Tonight: Join Us to Welcome Sooke's New Mayor and Council, November 2 at 6:00 p.m.

The District of Sooke invites residents to join us this evening, Monday, November 2, as we welcome the 2026–2030 Mayor and Council.

The Inaugural Council Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Sooke Municipal Hall, with parking available at 2205 Otter Point Road.

The meeting will include the swearing-in of Mayor-elect Kevin Pearson and six Councillors-elect, along with the ceremonial presentation of the Chain of Office from outgoing Mayor Maja Tait.

Following the meeting, residents are invited to an informal community meet and greet, anticipated from approximately 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., subject to the length of the meeting. Light refreshments will be served.

A "Dear Soldier" letter-writing station will also be available for residents wishing to share messages of support with those affected by the recent tragedy in Wainwright. Messages will be included in a community package being sent on November 3.

Whether you attend the formal meeting, stop by afterward to say hello, or join us for both, we look forward to welcoming you.
