Costume Swap Brings Halloween Magic to Sooke

Wednesday, October 1, 2025 – Halloween in Sooke is about to get a little more sustainable – and a lot more fun. Community members are invited to drop off gently used costumes at the Sooke Library for a Costume Swap, happening Sunday, October 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The swap is a simple idea with big impact: bring in costumes you no longer need, and pick out something new—for free. Families save money on store-bought costumes while helping reduce textile waste, keeping perfectly good outfits out of the landfill.
Donations can be dropped off at the Sooke Library between September 28 and October 4, or brought in on the morning of the event itself.
By reusing and sharing, the Costume Swap offers families an affordable, eco-friendly way to celebrate Halloween while keeping the fun and creativity alive.
Presented in Partnership with Zero Waste Sooke, Sooke Library and the District of Sooke.
