District of Sooke Awards $71,753 in Community Grants and Sponsorship Funding

The District of Sooke is pleased to announce that 32 community grants and sponsorships, totaling $71,753, have been approved to support organizations whose services, programs, events and initiatives contribute to the well-being, vibrancy and connection of the Sooke community. 

Funding was awarded through three sources:

  • Community Grant Program: 20 grants totaling $54,453 
  • Sponsorship Fund: 5 sponsorships totaling $5,000 
  • Council Contingency Fund: 7 grants totaling $12,300  

These grants and sponsorships reflect Council’s continued commitment to supporting organizations that contribute to community life in Sooke. From arts and culture to youth programming, food security, recreation, environmental stewardship and community safety, these organizations help create opportunities for residents to participate, connect and share in local experiences. 

The Community Grant Program provides funding to non-profit organizations and community groups whose work aligns with Council priorities and supports the delivery of programs, services or events that benefit the Sooke community. Sponsorship and contingency funding provide additional support for initiatives, events and organizations that contribute to community life.

Together, these grants and sponsorships support a diverse range of community priorities. 

By supporting community organizations, this funding helps strengthen Sooke’s vibrancy and create more opportunities for residents to connect, participate and share in local experiences.
