Edward Milne Students Present Bright Star Musical

The District of Sooke is pleased to highlight an upcoming community arts event featuring students from Edward Milne Community School (EMCS). EMCS is presenting the musical Bright Star, a story set in the Blue Ridge Mountains that follows intertwined journeys of love, loss and redemption. The production showcases the talents of local youth across acting, music and stagecraft.

A total of 46 student performers, supported by eight crew members and an 11-person live orchestra, bring this rich and dramatic show to life. The musical reflects a folk-inspired style and spans multiple timelines, offering audiences an engaging and emotionally resonant experience.

Performances will take place at the Sooke Community Theatre on:

• March 5 and 6 at 7:00 p.m.
• March 7 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to come out and support these young performers as they share months of dedicated rehearsal and artistic collaboration.
