Halloween Night Lights Up Camp Barnard!

Wednesday, October 22, 2025 – A local Halloween tradition returns to light up the night! Otter Point Firefighters will welcome the community to Camp Barnard this Halloween night for an evening of community fun, warmth, and wonder under the autumn sky.

The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the bonfire — a cozy gathering for families to enjoy before the fireworks display takes over the lake at 7:30 p.m.

Guests can enjoy hot dogs and hot chocolate, and every young trick-or-treater will receive a candy bag to take home.

“Halloween Night at Camp Barnard is a true community celebration,” says Fire Chief Wayne Kennedy, Sooke Fire Rescue. “Events like this highlight the strong partnership between our local departments. Whether we’re supporting one another on the fire ground or at community gatherings, our shared goal is keeping residents safe and connected.”

Chief Kennedy adds, “The collaboration between fire departments across the region — including Sooke, Otter Point, East Sooke, Metchosin and others — ensures we can respond effectively to emergencies while also celebrating the spirit of community that makes the Sooke area so special.”

Bundle up, bring your family, and join the Otter Point Firefighters for a spooktacular community night by the fire!
