It’s Time to Renew Your 2026 Business Licence
The District of Sooke is reminding local business owners that it’s time to renew annual business licences. A valid business licence is required for all commercial, home-based, and non-resident businesses operating within the municipality.
Renewal Deadline
Business licence renewals for the 2025 calendar year are due by February 28, 2026.
To avoid late penalties, please ensure payment is received by the deadline.
How to Renew
Renewing your business licence is simple and can be done in one of the following ways:
- Online: Pay through the District’s online services portal.
- By Mail: Send a cheque payable to the District of Sooke, noting your business licence number.
- In Person: Visit Municipal Hall, 2205 Otter Point Road, during regular business hours.
Fees
Annual business licence fees remain unchanged from the previous year and vary depending on business type. Fees will be noted on your renewal notice. If you did not receive a notice, please contact the District.
Changes to Your Business?
If your business has undergone any of the following changes, please notify the District prior to renewing:
- Ownership changes
- Business name updates
- Address changes (including home-based businesses)
- Changes to business activities or scope of operations
Why a Business Licence Is Required
