Reminder: Property Taxes Due July 2 — Claim Your Home Owner Grant

The District of Sooke is reminding property owners that 2026 property taxes are due Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Payments must be received by the District by the due date to avoid penalties. If you are paying through online banking, by mail, or through your financial institution, please allow extra time for processing.

Eligible property owners are also reminded to claim the B.C. Home Owner Grant directly through the Province of British Columbia. The grant is not automatic and must be claimed each year, even if your mortgage company pays your property taxes.

Before July 2:

  • Review your property tax notice
  • Pay your property taxes by the deadline
  • Claim your Home Owner Grant, if eligible
  • Confirm whether your mortgage company is paying on your behalf
  • Allow extra time for bank or mail processing

Property owners can view their tax balance through their MyCity account.
