Roadside Mowing Program Starting Next Week
The District of Sooke will begin its annual roadside mowing program, also known as flail mowing, next week.
As in previous years, work will begin east of town and progress west. The full program is expected to take approximately five weeks to complete.
For the first week, crews will be working east of the Idlemore/Kaltasin area. Traffic control is not anticipated for this work; however, please give crews space and use caution when navigating around roadside mowing activities.
The program will also address some recent vegetation management service requests, as work is coordinated with the seasonal program to achieve cost efficiencies.
The District will provide weekly updates on Fridays outlining the areas where roadside mowing is anticipated to take place the following week.
