Sisters in Spirit Vigil on October 4, 2025

Thursday, October 2, 2025 – Community members to gather at the Red Dress installation outside Municipal Hall on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for a Sisters in Spirit Vigil.

October 4 is recognized nationally as Sisters in Spirit Day – a time to honour and remember missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+). This gathering offers a space for reflection, remembrance, and solidarity with families and communities impacted by this ongoing national tragedy.

The red dress has become a powerful symbol of the lives lost, serving as both a call for justice and a reminder of the resilience of Indigenous women and communities. By standing together in this act of remembrance, we strengthen our shared commitment to truth, reconciliation, and safety for all.

Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in this important day of recognition.
