Sooke Fire Rescue Responds to Early Morning Structure Fire on Kaltasin Road
One occupant was treated for smoke inhalation by BC Ambulance Service and transported to hospital following an early morning structure fire on Kaltasin Road. No other injuries have been reported.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Sooke Fire Rescue responded to reports of a fully involved mobile home fire. Sooke Fire Rescue crews and Paid-on-Call members, supported by Metchosin and East Sooke Fire Departments, worked to bring the fire under control. Due to the extent of the fire and structural damage, access within the structure was limited. The fire was contained to the single unit, and two neighbouring mobile homes were protected from damage.
“This was a strong, coordinated response,” said Fire Chief Wayne Kennedy. “We’re grateful to our mutual aid partners for their support in the early morning hours, which was key to containing the fire and protecting nearby homes.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and crews remain on scene to manage hot spots.
