Sooke Gears Up for 2025 Sooke Santa Run: A Celebration of Community Giving and Holiday Spirit

The District of Sooke is delighted to announce that the 2025 Sooke Santa Run will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The annual tradition, led by Sooke Firefighters and supported by numerous District personnel, continues to be a shining example of community generosity and holiday cheer.

Beginning at dusk, fire trucks decorated with festive lights and holiday music will travel through four routes across the community, inviting residents to step outside, wave, and share in the seasonal spirit. Families can follow Santa and his elves in real time along each neighbourhood route using the event’s GIS Santa Tracker, allowing everyone to time their viewing and ensure they don’t miss the magic as it passes by. Residents are encouraged to listen for the sirens and holiday music as teams make their way through neighbourhoods across Sooke, spreading cheer and collecting donations for local families in need.

As part of this longstanding charitable tradition, participants are encouraged to offer non-perishable food items or cash donations along the route - all proceeds go to the Sooke Christmas Bureau, supporting local families during the holiday season.

“We’re honoured to contribute once again to the Sooke Santa Run,” said Raechel Gray, Chief Administrative Officer of the District of Sooke. “This event reminds us what makes Sooke special - neighbours coming together, giving generously, and caring for one another. Our staff who volunteer are the heart of this tradition, and the District is proud to support their efforts to bring joy to families across our community.”
