Sunriver Nature Trail Restoration Continues – Partial Trail Closure Through October 30, 2026

Restoration work continues along the Sunriver Nature Trail to address areas where ongoing exposure to the elements and erosion have affected trail conditions.

To support this work, a section of the trail near the main entrance off Phillips Road will remain temporarily closed until October 30, 2026, subject to weather conditions.

During this time, crews and equipment will be actively moving materials and completing trail improvements. For public safety, pedestrian access will not be permitted within the closed section of the trail. The Sunriver Nature Trail remains accessible from Willowpark Way.

On-site signage will identify work areas as restoration progresses. Trail users are asked to respect posted closures for their safety and to allow crews to complete the work safely and efficiently.

The District of Sooke appreciates the community's patience and understanding as this work continues to improve trail conditions, protect the surrounding natural environment and support the long-term enjoyment of this valued outdoor space.
