Traffic Advisory: Overnight BC Hydro Work on Sooke Road

The District of Sooke is sharing the following from BC Hydro:

Crews are changing poles and lines along Sooke Rd, between Woodruff Rd and Kangaroo Rd. The work is scheduled overnight between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., and is expected to be completed by April 24. Depending on weather conditions, site constraints, or other operational requirements, the schedule may be extended.

 For safety reasons, lane closures will be in place while work is underway. In areas where the road is double-lane, traffic will operate as single-lane alternating. In areas with three lanes, two lanes will remain open for traffic.

To keep drivers informed, electronic message boards will be installed at key locations. Traffic control personnel will be on site. Drivers should plan, drive with caution and expect delays.

We regret the inconvenience, but the work is required to help us improve the system that serves Sooke and the surrounding area. Please keep to the safe speed limit in work zones and follow the directions of the flaggers.
