Traffic Advisory: Westcoast Sooke 10K – Sunday, March 8

Residents and motorists are advised of temporary traffic impacts in the Edward Milne Road, Sooke River Road, and Sooke Road areas on Sunday, March 8, due to the Westcoast Sooke 10K road race.

Timing

• Increased vehicle activity in the area beginning around 10:00 am as participants arrive
• Race start: 11:00 am
• Event activities and traffic impacts are expected to be wrapped up by approximately 1:00 pm

What to Expect

• Increased pedestrian and runner activity along:
  • Edward Milne Road
  • Sooke River Road
  • Adjacent sections of Sooke Road
• The race follows an out-and-back route, travelling to and from Edward Milne Community School along Sooke River Road for approximately 5 kilometres
• Traffic control personnel will be on site to assist vehicles travelling in the area
• Intermittent, short delays for neighbourhood residents and motorists are to be expected to ensure participant safety
