Underground Pipe Inspections Scheduled – Temporary Traffic Impacts on February 26
The District of Sooke will be conducting Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inspections of sections of underground municipal piping infrastructure on February 26, 2026.
CCTV inspection is a non-invasive method used to assess the internal condition of underground pipes, including storm, sanitary, and other drainage infrastructure. A high-definition, waterproof camera is inserted into the pipe, allowing trained professionals to view live, real-time video footage of the interior. This technology helps crews identify blockages, cracks, root intrusion, joint separations, and other potential concerns.
These inspections are an important part of infrastructure maintenance. By identifying concerns early, the District can plan timely repairs, extend the life of underground assets, and reduce the risk of unexpected service disruptions.
