Victoria Region celebrates spring GoByBike Week with free transit for cyclists
The District of Sooke is sharing the following information with residents from BC Transit:
BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission (VRTC) are happy to announce free transit for cyclists during the spring edition of GoByBike Week, May 30 – June 5, 2026.
To qualify for free transit, customers taking part in GoByBike Week must use the bus bike racks or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus.
All conventional BC Transit buses are equipped with bike racks on the front of the bus, making it easier for cyclists to combine two forms of sustainable transportation when travelling longer distances - or when the weather changes throughout the day and makes cycling less desirable than it was first thing in the morning.
Most bikes can be accommodated on BC Transit buses but please note that bike space is limited and cannot be guaranteed. More information about travelling with your bike on the bus can be found here.
BC Transit is a long-time proud partner of GoByBike in the Victoria region. For more about GoByBike Week festivities, which include celebration stations and prize giveaways, visit: capitalbike.ca/gobybike/
This year, BC Transit will be taking part in the Celebration Station at Saanich Municipal Hall on Friday, June 5 from 7 – 9 a.m.
