Emergency Preparedness Week (May 3 to 9): Get Prepared, Stay Connected
Emergency Preparedness Week takes place May 3–9 and is an opportunity for residents to take simple, practical steps to be better prepared for emergencies.
This year’s theme, “In it Together,” highlights the importance of community connection. Being prepared isn’t just about having supplies on hand — it’s also about knowing your neighbours, understanding local risks, and working together to support one another before, during, and after an emergency.
Get Started with a Simple Activity
Looking for an easy way to begin? Try this PreparedBC scavenger hunt, a fun and interactive activity for individuals, families, or neighbours:

- Connect with neighbours
- Learn about local hazards
- Share skills and resources
