UPDATE: Kirby Road Reopened Following Structure Fire
Kirby Road has reopened following Sooke Fire Rescue’s response to a shed fire in the area.
The fire was generally contained to the structure. Flames that spread to nearby trees were quickly extinguished by responding crews. The fire appears to be accidental in nature.
“Thanks to the quick response and coordinated efforts of our crews, the fire was brought under control quickly and spread to the surrounding area was very limited,” said Deputy Chief Chris McRae. “We appreciate everyone who assisted with the response.”
Thank you to area residents and motorists for giving emergency crews the space they needed to work safely.
