On February 26, 2026, the District of Sooke will conduct CCTV inspections of underground pipes to support maintenance. Temporary traffic impacts are expected on Church Road, Brownsey Boulevard, and Brule Drive. Motorists should follow signage and allow extra travel time.
Blythwood Road will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, February 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to accommodate surveying work. Alternative access is available via Parkland. Once surveying is complete, the road will reopen to single-lane alternating traffic.
Temporary traffic impacts are expected Sunday, March 8, along Edward Milne Road, Sooke River Road, and Sooke Road for the Westcoast Sooke 10K. Increased pedestrian activity and minor delays are expected between approximately 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
BC Hydro will conduct tree removal along Sooke Road between Woodruff and Kangaroo Roads starting February 9 for about three weeks, causing daytime lane reductions between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please keep to the safe speed limit in work zones and follow the directions of the flaggers.
Short-term traffic delays are expected on Highway 14 from Otter Point Road to Langford between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, due to the Wounded Warriors Sooke-to-Sidney Run supporting veterans and first responders.
Emergency repairs are underway for a sinkhole on Goodmere Road, closing the road at Brownsey Boulevard. Detours are in place via Brownsey Boulevard and Murray Road. Repair timelines are under assessment; updates will follow.
Blythwood Road, west of Woodlands Road (5829–5833), is open to single lane, alternating for local area traffic. Winter rainfall caused embankment sloughing at Saseenos Creek, prompting a geotechnical investigation. Updates will follow.
Crews will be replacing a utility pole near 2047 Otter Point Road on Wednesday, December 3rd, starting at 9:00 a.m. for approximately 2 hours. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place with Traffic Control Personnel on-site, and minor delays are expected. Use alternate routes where possible.
Road closures will be in effect from 4:30 p.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m. to ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators. Affected roads include Throup Road, Church Road and Wadams Way. Residents are encouraged to plan travel accordingly and arrive early for pre-parade festivities at the Vancouver Island Regional Library starting at 4:00 p.m.
