Requests Under $250 and/or In-Kind (Not in District Parks)
Submit a brief request by email to communications@sooke.ca that includes:
- A short description of the event or initiative
- The amount and/or type of sponsorship requested
- The community benefit
- How the District of Sooke will be acknowledged as a sponsor
Events in District of Sooke Parks
If your event takes place in a District of Sooke park, request sponsorship consideration when submitting your Parks Use Permit application.
A separate sponsorship request is not required.
Requests Requiring Council Consideration
Council approval is required if your request:
- Exceeds $250 in monetary sponsorship, or
- Involves a multi-year funding commitment
The maximum sponsorship request is $1,000 per year.
How to Request Council Consideration
Submit a letter addressed to the Director of Financial Services and the Corporate Officer to info@sooke.ca that includes:
- Event or initiative name, date(s), and location
- A brief description and community benefit
- The sponsorship amount and/or in-kind support requested
- How the District of Sooke will be acknowledged
Requests are considered at a public meeting of Council, subject to available funding.
