Community members will gather October 4 at 10 a.m. at Municipal Hall for a Sisters in Spirit Vigil, honouring missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people, and promoting remembrance, solidarity, and reconciliation.
The Sooke Region Mental Health Fair (Oct 4, 11am–4:30pm) offers a free community event focused on anxiety, featuring workshops, resources, and connections to support mental health and build resilience.
SEAPARC’s Youth Creative Craft Fair (Dec 6, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.) invites ages 7–18 to showcase and sell handmade creations, encouraging creativity, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
The inaugural Mike Thomas Memorial Walk (Oct 5, 9 a.m.) supports Sooke Hospice, featuring a 5 km family-friendly route from EMCS, raising awareness and funds for compassionate end-of-life care.
Sooke’s Costume Swap (Oct 5, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.) at the library invites families to exchange gently used costumes for free, promoting affordability, sustainability, and reduced textile waste.
The October 6, 2025 Community Economic Development Committee meeting at 1:00 p.m. has been cancelled due to no business; the next meeting is scheduled for November 3, 2025.
The Repair Café (Oct 5, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.) at Sooke Community Hall offers free help to fix items, including bikes, promoting skill-sharing and reducing waste through community collaboration.
Category 1 campfires are now allowed in Sooke following the lifted ban; however, backyard burning remains prohibited until November 1 and must follow strict seasonal and safety regulations.
The District of Sooke will not hold a 2025 Tax Sale, as no properties have delinquent taxes; the previously noted date was corrected to September 29, 2025.
Traffic delays are expected Sept 30 (11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) for the Orange Shirt Day Healing Walk, with road closures, detours, and safety measures in place along Highway 14 and Otter Point Road.
