The October 6, 2025 Community Economic Development Committee meeting at 1:00 p.m. has been cancelled due to no business; the next meeting is scheduled for November 3, 2025.
The Repair Café (Oct 5, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.) at Sooke Community Hall offers free help to fix items, including bikes, promoting skill-sharing and reducing waste through community collaboration.
Category 1 campfires are now allowed in Sooke following the lifted ban; however, backyard burning remains prohibited until November 1 and must follow strict seasonal and safety regulations.
The District of Sooke will not hold a 2025 Tax Sale, as no properties have delinquent taxes; the previously noted date was corrected to September 29, 2025.

Sooke’s Little River crossing project is progressing, with bridge installation underway and completion expected fall 2025, creating a shorter, sustainable connection supported by federal and provincial funding.
The District of Sooke is moving forward with key partners to improve access to health services and housing at 6651 Wadams Way. Catalyst Community Developments Society is the successful proponent to develop the proposed health centre and housing project at 6651 Wadams Way. Catalyst is a BC-based non-profit developer and operator of rental housing and community servicing spaces. Catalyst has a proven track record of delivering high-quality health care spaces and housing co-located together in one building. The facility is anticipated to feature 80 rental homes (30% below market), integrated medical services, and partnerships with Island Health and BC Builds.
