Edward Milne Community School students present Bright Star at Sooke Community Theatre, March 5–7. Featuring 46 performers, live orchestra and crew, this heartfelt musical highlights local youth talent in an inspiring story of love and redemption. Tickets available online.
Residents are invited to walk in Sooke’s Coldest Night of the Year on February 28, 2026. This family-friendly fundraiser supports local programs addressing homelessness, hunger, and hardship, with proceeds benefiting the Sooke Shelter Society and community services.

On February 26, 2026, the District of Sooke will conduct CCTV inspections of underground pipes to support maintenance. Temporary traffic impacts are expected on Church Road, Brownsey Boulevard, and Brule Drive. Motorists should follow signage and allow extra travel time.
For 18 years, volunteers have removed invasive Scotch broom from Whiffin Spit each spring. Led by local stewardship groups, work parties from March 1 to April 15 help restore native plants and protect one of Sooke’s cherished natural spaces.

Sheila Wallace has helped shape Sooke’s local food movement since 2008, from envisioning Sunriver Community Gardens to leading food initiatives, supporting markets, and launching a cookbook - celebrated at Sooke Seedy Saturday, February 28 at the Community Hall.
The District of Sooke is pleased to share a community survey on behalf of the Sooke Region Food Systems Network (SRFSN) to help shape the Network’s 2026 priorities and longer-term direction. The SRFSN is seeking input from individuals and organizations involved in or connected to the local food system across the Sooke Region, from East Sooke to Port Renfrew. Survey open until March 29, 2026.
The District of Sooke has launched an online Development Permit Area (DPA) Viewer to support Official Community Plan (OCP) implementation. The tool helps applicants screen properties for applicable DPAs, understand permit requirements, and access guidance before advancing project design and applications.
